Wedding Cheese Towers
Whether you are hosting a small get-together and would like a platter of cheese, or planning your wedding or an event and would like to showcase an impressive cheese tower, we are delighted to be able to supply a bespoke cheese tower to suit your requirements. To help you select the right cheeses we offer a cheese tasting within our exclusive Cheshire tasting room; we will discuss your requirements and together we can build your bespoke cheese tower. We have experience and creativity in decorating the cheese tower, to assemble at your chosen venue or you can organise the decoration yourself. We offer delivery to your venue.
About Wedding Cheese Towers
A wedding cheese tower is a stack of whole cheeses arranged in tiers, from the largest at the base to the smallest at the top. It can replace a traditional cake, sit alongside it, or become the centrepiece of the evening buffet. Dressed with fruit, flowers and foliage, it looks spectacular in photos and gives guests something more substantial to enjoy as the night goes on.
How much cheese do we need?
As a guide, allow about 100g of cheese per guest if the tower is the main evening food, or 50g to 75g per guest if it's served alongside other food. A tower for 100 evening guests would usually need around 5kg to 10kg of cheese. We'll help you work out the right size based on your guest numbers and what else is on the menu.
How many tiers should it have?
Most towers have between three and six tiers. More tiers give you more height and variety, but the total weight should still match your guest numbers. A tall tower for a smaller wedding can mean a lot of leftover cheese, so we'll help you balance looks and quantity.
Can a cheese tower be the wedding cake?
Yes. Many couples cut the cheese tower instead of a cake, or have a small cake on top or alongside it. Some put a small cheese on the top tier for cutting, then serve the rest from the board.
What do you serve with it?
A cheese tower is best served with crackers and biscuits, chutneys and relishes, fresh and dried fruit, grapes and figs, and bread. Charcuterie, olives and honeycomb also go well. We can supply all of these, so your caterer only needs to plate them up.
