Easter is fast approaching, and this year we can all look forward to a ‘normal’ Easter!! family gatherings, eating out, Easter egg hunts, fun days for the children, jazz festivals and hopefully sitting in the sunshine with a nice cold beer or a glass of wine and possibly a little cheese!!
We have put together a few cheeses for a family Easter Sunday lunch.
‘Sunday Best’, made by Butler’s farmhouse cheese, it packs a punch, its strong, matured for 18 months and in our opinion the best Lancashire cheese made in Lancashire. 250g priced at £3.15.
What about trying something completely different.?
I have been a fan of the Yorkshire based Shepherds Purse cheese for many years, we sell their Yorkshire Blue and the Harrogate Blue often, I have though, come across this very unusual cheese made by the same cheese makers, named ‘Katy’s Lavender’ made with Ewe’s milk, the cheese is rolled in Lavender, left to mature and the result is a gorgeous, creamy and crumbly textured cheese with infused lavender. The lavender flavour comes through ever so slightly and almost cleanses the palette... I can’t enthuse about this enough!!! It is fabulous!
Give it a try, for April only we are giving our customers a 15% discount. Usually, £8.15 each. ‘How much’? I hear you say!! They are quite pricey because the cheese is made with Ewe’s milk therefore, milk is not as plentiful like that of cow’s milk; our price for April only is £6.95 for a 200g block. Treat yourself for Easter, you won’t regret it!
So, you can buy all of these cheeses individually, OR, choose 4 cheeses of your own choice
£13.95
We will deliver to you free of charge, your chosen cheese presented in a reusable wooden tray !
And finally, we are so excited about a new cheese which is being made for us to mark our 1 year at Rose Farm and to celebrate the Queen’s platinum Jubilee... This cheese will be exclusive to us, it will be available from 3rd May to buy as a whole piece or in pre-packs and will feature on May newsletter!!!
On 14th May, John and his team at Rose Farm are holding a fun day/open day, there will be plenty of activities for adults and children and there will be a bar!! All proceeds are going to the Ukraine Appeal.
The open day also gives the business owners the opportunity to showcase what they do. We are going to be giving out tastings of our new cheese and Crabtree cheese which is locally made by Anne at larkton Hall, near Broxton.
Please do come along if you can, it is a very worthy cause and will be a lot of fun! hopefully the weather will be a little warmer.
We thank all of you for your continued custom and support, and thanks too, for reading my newsletters!!
Kirstie, Mike and the Team!
